Located on the corner near Hotel De Ville is a hole in the wall that hides the best creperie in Paris. Crepes comes in two forms, sweet and savory, La Dragouerie ( Translated means Torres' drug store). Crepes are crafted in front of your eyes via two open windows and these pieces of paper thin pancakes are both crispy, savory and sweet. A must try for Paris.

Crepe and pancake mixes are pretty similar, composing of flour, egg, a pinch of salt but the crepe mixture is much lighter and does not have baking soda. Crepes are also cooked in terms of seconds instead of minutes for pancakes. The result is a thin and fragrant thin cake. The crepe at La Droguerie is exceptional, it is thin and fragrant, there is also a crunch to the caramelized cheese. The aroma from the buckwheat flour plus the crispy cheese makes it a very satisfying snack. I asked the chef why his crepes taste so amazing, his answer is that the flour is special. He sources them from the south of france from a certain supplier that gives his crepes an edge up from the rest. Once the buckwheat crepe is almost done, he takes a huge bucket of cheese out and generously spreads it on the crepe. The sides of the cheese forms a crispy crust that is linked to the buckwheat crepe. Slices of ham are finally added and then the savory ham and cheese crepe is warmly placed on my cold November hands.
